Elephone P3000s Review

Hey guys, whats up, Zi Jin Cheng here, and this is the Elephone P3000s. The Elephone P3000s is a very cheap smartphone with pretty decent specs that looks pretty good all round. An octacore processor, a big battery and a good camera are all pros for this device. However, the most important thing is the user experience, which is exactly what I’m going to discuss. It has great specifications and retails for $14 at Gearbest. With the coupon code “ELEP3000S” the price can be brought down to $131.

Build Quality

This phone has relatively thin side bezels which makes the phone thinner for easier one handed use, but is quite tall because there of the large top and bottom bezels. Easily the worst part of this phone is how thick it is. I feel like I’m constantly holding a kitkat in my hand, which is actually still thinner than this phone. And the way the removeable back cover sits on the phone doesn’t help either, making it feel thicker than it really is. However, I found this phone to feel very light, even though the manufacturer’s weight suggests otherwise. The weight is probably very well distributed to achieve such a feeling. The Elephone has pretty decent build quality. It has a rubbery, matte plastic body that doesn’t feel cheap at all and is solid and durable. I’m also very fond of matte rubber back covers in general. It gives the phone a great grip and feels good in hand. It attracts fingerprints like a boss though. The power and volume buttons are located on opposite sides of the phone and have a good finish and solid feel. The back of the phone features the camera and LED flash situated within a circular housing, which has a metallic finish and makes the phone look more premium. However, some people find this round circle on the back of the phone ugly, but again that’s personal preference. The Elephone logo is found directly below the camera circle, and is very shiny. The speaker grille is located at the bottom of the device. The removeable back cover is also made of rubbery matte plastic that keeps the weight of the phone down while providing a good grip and feel. However, keep in mind that it also makes fingerprints visible. In conclusion, the Elephone P3000s has good build quality while being rather thick for a 5″ phone. However, it is something you get used to after a while, so I wouldn’t worry to much about it unless you regularly wear super skinny jeans. Next Page
