Elephone P7000 Review

Hey guys, what’s up, and welcome to my very late review of the Elephone P7000. I apologize for the lateness of this review and hope that it will still be useful to you. I will also be reviewing the Elephone P8000 shortly. The P7000 is Elephone’s flagship, and you do get some very impressive specs for the price. It has 3GB of RAM, a fingerprint sensor and a 1080p screen. However, do these amazing specs translate into a great user experience? Continue watching my review of the Elephone P7000.. Gearbest.

Hardware

The phone is quite large. It is about the same size as the iPhone 6 Plus and 2mm thicker as well. It is definitely one of the larger 5.5″ devices you can get. Elephone tries to distinguish this phone by using a metal called magnalium for it’s bezel, which does make the phone feel higher quality. Elephone has also tried to hide the rather large bezels around the screen by colouring them black so you think it’s part of the screen. The bottom of the device has the home button that lights up and the back and menu buttons that cannot be seen but still work. I’m not sure why Elephone didn’t print back and menu buttons but it isn’t a big deal. The home button lights up and doubles as the notification LED, and it does look pretty cool.

The volume and power buttons are located on the sides of the phone and are quite good quality.

The back of the device is a plastic cover with a brushed metal feel, very similar to the Zenfone 2’s brushed metal plastic backcover as well. This plastic cover does make the device feel less premium and it flexes a little bit as well. The back of the phone holds the camera, flash, fingerprint sensor and the Elephone logo. Removing the backcover reveals the 3450mAh battery, the 2 SIM slots and the MicroSD card slot.

This phone does have some character and distinguishes itself visually from other phones both from the front and the back. It’s feel in hand is above average as it has a metal bezel, but it isn’t amazing because of the plastic back cover. It is also durable enough to take a few knocks and a short drop here and there.
